Dorothy Falk, who has transcribed the entire database from microfilm advises me this has been the hardest exhibit she's ever completed. The handwriting was so bad in many years that it was almost impossible to discern what the names were supposed to be. Because she's transcribed so many databases for Clinton County, she could make sense of some of the otherwise illegible names, but there were many that remained anyone's guess.
In short, to make this one of the high-quality databases our researchers have come to expect, we have decided to place just the names on this site for a short while in hopes researchers will recognize some of them and send us their corrections. Once we are satisfied we have received as many corrections as possible we will upload the entire database.
If you find a correction on any name, even if the person isn't "yours," but you recognize it from researching, please let us know by contacting Dorothy Falk.
While we are awaiting the changes, I will be putting the finishing touches on the full database so it will not be possible to do lookups on this particular exhibit at this time. We will notify everyone on the Clinton County List when the full database has been uploaded in its entirety. Thank you for your patience.
